Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
5 cups flour
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream. Chill dough. Roll ⅛- to ¼- inch thick on floured cloth and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.
